These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the DogCompatibility website and services operated by DogCompatibility. By using the site, you agree to these Terms.

Permitted use

DogCompatibility may be used by individuals to help make a more informed decision about dog ownership. It may also be referenced or recommended by veterinarians, rescues, shelters, trainers, breeders, and other pet-care professionals for informational and educational purposes.

This permission does not include reselling the service or its results, scraping or bulk-extracting its data, copying or repackaging its database, redistributing its content commercially without our written permission, or misrepresenting the service or its results as another organization’s product.

Our content & intellectual property

The service’s original materials — including our written explanations, the design and presentation of the site, our compatibility framework, and the particular selection, arrangement, and compilation of information — are owned by DogCompatibility or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

We do not claim ownership of underlying facts, general breed characteristics, or third-party names and trademarks. Breed names, kennel-club names, and other marks referenced on the site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification and descriptive purposes only.

Restrictions

• Do not scrape, crawl, harvest, bulk-download, or systematically extract the site’s data or content.
• Do not copy, resell, redistribute, sublicense, or create derivative commercial products from our content, results, or guides.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems.

No guarantee — dogs vary

Our matches and guides describe general tendencies and are provided for informational and decision-support purposes only. Individual dogs vary widely based on genetics, upbringing, training, health, and environment. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, temperament, compatibility, or experience with any breed or dog.

Not professional advice

DogCompatibility does not provide veterinary, medical, legal, or financial advice. Our content is not a substitute for consultation with a qualified veterinarian, trainer, or other professional. Always seek professional guidance for the care and health of a specific animal.

Purchases & payment

Certain features, such as the personalized first-year ownership guide, are available for a one-time fee shown at checkout (currently $19.99 USD). Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor; we do not store your full card details. By purchasing, you authorize the applicable charge.

Guide delivery

After a successful payment, your personalized guide is generated and made available to you as a web page and downloadable file, and a secure access link is emailed to the address you provide. If generation or delivery fails after a successful payment, we retain your purchase so your guide can be produced without charging you again.

Refunds

DogCompatibility’s First-Year Ownership Guides are personalized digital products. Refund requests must be submitted within 48 hours of purchase by emailing [email protected] from the email address used for the purchase.

We will provide a refund for duplicate charges, a failure to deliver or provide access to a purchased guide that we are unable to correct, or a material technical defect that prevents the guide from being reasonably used. Other refund requests submitted within the 48-hour period will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

After 48 hours, purchases are generally non-refundable except where otherwise required by applicable law. Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method. Processing times after approval are determined by the payment provider and the customer’s financial institution.

If a guide fails to generate or cannot be delivered after successful payment, we will first attempt to correct the issue and provide the purchased guide without requiring an additional payment.

Disclaimer of warranties & limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, DogCompatibility will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Governing Law

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to the DogCompatibility website or services are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to applicable consumer-protection laws, the state and federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas will have jurisdiction and venue over disputes arising from these Terms or the use of the service.

Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
